A beachside reimagining that blends bold typography with the sun-drenched calm of the coast.
This is a redesign of the single cover for "Zendaya" by Cyril Kamer, a personal project where I wanted to reinterpret the visual identity of the track by aligning it more closely with the tone and atmosphere of the official music video.
The original cover had a different aesthetic, but I felt there was room to explore a version that captured the vibrant, sunny, and aspirational energy that the video transmits. The video showcases a relaxed, tropical lifestyle — beach scenes, natural light, and a calm yet confident mood. I wanted the cover to reflect all of that visually.
I focused on creating a warm, cinematic color palette and chose a typeface with strong personality — bold, playful, and oversized, yet still stylish and modern. The composition centers around the artist lounging at the beach, reinforcing the themes of ease, self-assurance, and youth culture. By doing this, I aimed to make the artwork feel more cohesive with the visual storytelling of the music video.
This project allowed me to experiment with the balance between image and typography, and how layout and mood can work together to evoke emotion. I also wanted the design to feel current and appealing to a younger audience, staying fresh.
