In the poster, “TOT” means “all” in Catalan. The idea comes from the short story “Cibernètica” by Pere Calders, from the book Tot s’aprofita (1983). In the story, an inventor proudly says he has created a machine that can do everything. When his friend asks what he will do now, the inventor answers that he will wait for the machine to explain why he created it. The poster represents this ironic idea: when technology becomes capable of doing everything, the creator may lose control or even the purpose of the invention. The word “TOT / ALL” symbolizes that unlimited power.
Who is really in control?
